Welcome to this Art Space
It is my intention to create a space for Art and Artists to gather. I have only begun to explore the possibilities ...much as I have done with my art for well over 40 years. Your patience will be appreciated while I experiment and make my choices.
You might want to check my spot on The Arts Map ...Let me know if you are on it, too!
ReplyDeleteAfter an extended 'winter spell' we've been treated to some really NICE weather. I've been busy with getting work matted and framed and laying out my plans for March, April and May.
ReplyDeleteOne item on the schedule is a Community Art Walk in May. There will be a wide variety of art represented and it is being tuned for becoming a regular event. We have a small town but it is the county seat so we have a very active square during the week. However, weekends are very quiet - UNTIL RECENTLY...We have several new retail businesses surrounding the courthouse and there are some really outstanding nooks and crannies to investigate: The Ritz Deli and Starlight Ballroom...The Old Wire Road Antiques (starring Clifford, the Rooster Door Greeter)...Local Unique-Art & Antique Boutique and Collectibles of the 'first order'...And what is exceptional is that artists and craftsmen are able to display and sell their original work year 'round. When we 'freshen' up our displays and fill our shelves we often stop in and have the coffee of the day and some tasty pastries at Christenberry's Tea Room. This is very meaningful to a small town like ours. Our population is filled with Fiber Artists and Potters and Art and Craft Teachers...Watercolorists, Pen and Ink Artists, Oil Painters, Quilters, Authors, Photographers, Digital Artists, Woodcarvers, Jewelry Designers...Metal Sculptors, Muralists and so much more. We've barely scratched the surface I am sure.
Is your town like ours? I hope so. Life without Art is no fun at all!
